1 Part Dragons blood

1/2 part nutmeg

1/2 part violet

(or a few drops of violet oil)

1/2 part orange peel

1/2 part rose petals

 

Mix the herbs together in a glass bowl or a mortar. This makes the act of mixing the herbs feel special. Light your coal and place it in your hadylo/thurible/incensor or any heat safe open container. Sprinkle your loose herbs incense mix onto the coal and enjoy the Ostara Aroma

Ostara Milk and Honey Elixir



Get an egg shaped candle or any candle, white is usually best, in the case of it being Ostara. Green and Purple candles are even better. Mix milk. honey and sugar together in an earthen bowl as an offering to the Earth for the coming Spring. As you pour the elixir into the Earth say the following:

" I make this offering to the Earth,

As thanks for the many blessings

I have received, and those I

Shall some day receive."

Five Ideas for Celebrating Spring Equinox (without a Group, Grove or Coven)



1. Start Your Seeds
        If you garden and you haven't started your seeds yet, it may be time, even if they're indoors in a pot. If you don't garden, consider getting a simple plant (basil or rosemary are great, since they're also useful in the kitchen) and starting it on a window sill or ledge

2. Seek New Life
          Go into your back yard, or a park, or just to a grassy spot. Look for signs of greening, birds you haven't seen since autumn, or flowers poking up from the earth. Reflect on what it means that life is renewed.

3. Pray for Sun-Stations
          There are three points on the Equinox when all is equal; solar noon, dawn, and sunset. Create a brief prayer for each of these stations, and check to find out when they occur at your location. Then speak each prayer at the appointed time.

4. Transfer your Hearth Flame
      If you keep a hearth flame, take it outside and light a bonfire with it transferring that flame that keeps your house warm to the fire of fellowship that we kindle and sit around on those warm nights to come.

5. Dye Divinatory Eggs
       Hard boil 24-25 eggs, then take the clear way crayon that comes in an egg dying kit and write a Rune or Ogham sign on each egg. Then, mix them up and pick three; Dye those three eggs to see what blessings will come to you in the spring

Verain was a favored herb for the druids and used in magic rituals. It was though to protect the bearer against witches spells and to ward of the Evil Eye. Placing it on a small cut the hand was believed to bestow the ability to open locked and bolted doors once the hand has fully healed.

How to Make your Own Rose Water

Make your Own Rose Water

1. you will first need some rose petals. Pick some fresh rose petals, and then rinse them off with fresh water or use roses that have been placed on an altar for a week and have been infused with your prayers and intentions

2. Place your Petals in a glass container - I like to use a large mason jar.

3. Add Rose quartz stones and other crystals for love on top of your rose petals to energetically amplify your rose water with more love energy and blessings.

4. allow the water to "brew" for several days. I like to surround my water with healing crystals, like rose quartz, selenite crystals, clear quartz stones or any other crystals for love, to create a space radiating with love energy.

5. Strain the water and pour it into a spray bottle or small jar so that you can use it based on your needs.

after finishing your rose water, you can then add the rose petals to a bath if your want. add water to your bath and place the rose petals over your heart. you will feel the love energy and it will help to open your heart chakra.

Another way that you can make rose water is to add water and the rose petals to a large pot of distilled water. cover the pot with a lid and boil on a low flame. All the water to steam until the water has turned the color of a rose petal. Strain the water and leave it until it cool down. Then pour it into your container of choice and begin using.

In a glass jar, place all dry ingredients. Add raw (unpasteurized), organic apple cider vinegar to cover. Place jar in a cool place and let sit, at room temperature, for the weeks. Strain off herbs and garlic, and decant to the glass bottle or jar with a tight fitting lid.

Uses:

Take a teaspoonful several times daily

add to salads either directly or in a salad dressing.

for personal protection, add a teaspoonful to herb water.

Use as a topical spray for disinfecting surfaces and or skin.

Every time I clean my house I usually have a little spell that I do for each task. Here is one of the one that I use while sweeping my floors.

"Sweep, Sweep

Sweep the ground.

All negativity

shall be bound.

That is profane.

Only Positive

shall remain."

Imbolc Ritual Fertility Doll

Imbolc is the opposite of Lammas when the corn Mother is made, and this festival also sees another form of fertility doll, but this time its for Brigid, or bride. These were traditionally made from oats, but can be made from any type of corn. You can either fashion a full doll or just tie up a few pieces of corn into a representative style and shape.

The Bridal Bed

Once you have made the fertility doll, dress it with lace and ribbons and lay it in a basket with flowers and a wand to create the virgin Goddess bridal bed. Light white candles for purity on either side of the basket then go to the front door and quietly call:

"Bride's bed is ready. Let bride come in Bride is Welcome"

In Celtic Beliefs, you are inviting in the virgins potential fertility and nurturing qualities.

Make a fertility Doll for Brigid and Place it in a bridal bed, to welcome the virgin into your home.
